In 2011 the school held one of the eight National School Team trophies, and Trinity School teams have represented England at the World School Championships on six occasions, twice taking bronze medals.
Outside of Table Tennis, membership of the Independent School Association (ISA) has opened up a range of competitive sporting competitions and Trinity School has participated in swimming, cross country and athletics.
In May 2010 seven pupils represented the Eastern Region at the ISA National Athletics Finals in Birmingham. One pupil took first place in the 80 metre and 150 metres and was awarded the Top Year 5 Girl Athlete of 2010 at the ISA National Athletic Championships. At the same event another pupil set a new National Record at the 60 metre sprint, boding well for further success in the future.
In May 2011 we took several pupils from both the Primary and the Senior school to the East Anglian ISA Athletics competitions and 6 pupils from each department got through to the ISA National Athletics Finals which was being held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham where they represented the East Anglia region. One Year 5 pupil took second place in the high jump, the Year 4 girls relay team (4 x 75 m) also came in second place. One Year 5 pupil retained her title as National Champion, this year winning the 75metres as well as the 150metres sprint. A Year 4 pupil, for whom this was her debut at the championships, came first in the 60 metre sprint. We have been informed that the Year 5 pupil will be awarded a trophy for ‘Outstanding Junior Girl Athlete’ and the Year 4 pupil will be awarded a certificate for ‘Outstanding Performance’ by the ISA Director of Sports at the start of the new academic year in September 2011.
